Someone needs to take the scene from Resident Evil 5 where Chris is like, ‘WESKER YOU ARE ALIVE’. Then have Wesker’s frame say, ‘Bitch, I might be.’

May 10, 2013; Happy Birthday John Constantine!
If you were to ask me what John Constantine means to me as a fictional character, my first impulse would be to correct you on the word ‘fictional.’ My second would be to explain that no other character has ever been more real, more relatable, or more gut-wrenching to keep up with.
Born in 1987 myself, I found John in my early teens and had years to catch up on, but within weeks I knew him like the back of my hand. Since then he’s been a constant source of ironic comfort, entertainment, and amazement for me. He’s not your average comic character, and that’s why I love him. He stumbles frequently, he makes horrible mistakes he can’t recover from, he’s sometimes a horrible person himself, and he aged like a real man for quite some time in a universe where characters were frequently rebooted and never stayed dead. He’s a lot of things to a lot of people, and most of them are lies or cons.
But John Constantine has never claimed to be anything other than what he really is to himself, and I appreciate the bastard for everything that definition includes. Thank you, Alan Moore, for giving him a voice we could hear. [x]
